More to know
The bridge is only interesting for its name. Earlier, the Vitebsky Bridge existed in the historic center of St. Petersburg. Built back in 1810, it spanned the Vvedensky Canal on Zagorodny Avenue. Later, the Tsarskoye Selo (currently Vitebsk) Railway Station was built nearby. In 1970, the canal was filled up, and the bridge was dismantled six years later.
